Community Building Partnerships

Ballina electorate was able to give away $300,000 in funding under this programme last year. The next round of funding will open on Monday 13 June. This year the minimum amount a group can apply for is $2,500.

Ballina Shire Council Community Grants

Ballina Shire Council has Financial Assistance for Community Groups and Capital Works Assistance for Community Halls.  Requests for over  $1,000 require at least 2 written quotes where considered appropriate by the General Manager.

The Shark Management Strategy (SMS) Grants Program

Applications opened  25 May 2016 and will close on 26th of June.

A total of $200,000 is available to support projects which align with the key objective of the NSW Shark Management Strategy to ‘increase protection for bathers from shark interactions while minimising harm to sharks or other animals’.

For this first round of funding, the focus is on personal shark deterrents (e.g protective wetsuits, small electrical and magnetic devices).
