The Byron Line - get Byron back on track

Residents of the Byron Shire are invited to a special presentation to learn about the Byron Line proposal.

The "Friends of the Byron Line" group will also be established.

The Byron Line is a smart solution to a wicked problem.

It transforms a disused transport corridor into a space that caters for various new tourism products whilst also providing for a local public transport dividend.  Cycle and walkways, which are problematic to fund, are paid for by complementary commercial shuttle and transport options upon which locals can hitch a consistent and reliable ride.

An incredible opportunity to transform an unused State asset into a wonderful tourism thread that binds the shire, benefiting both visitors and locals and becoming a NSW tourism treasure awaits activation.

The Byron Line will be the economic, social and environmental game changer for the Byron Shire.

After sharing the components of the project, a clear path forward will be established: creating the community group-Friends of the Byron Line, who will facilitate the creation of both a business plan and a state of the rail corridor report in order to lay the tracks down towards achieving reactivation of the corridor.

This is THE chance to bring our community together- unifying and speaking with one voice to the State government is the only way to gain support, funding and wider partnerships.

I look forward to seeing you on the 25th, a day that could become seen as the day our community got back on track: together, with vision and commitment and with an idea that turned into an amazing reality.

Regards, Simon Richardson
