Member for Ballina Tamara Smith today announced the electorate of Ballina has secured $330,000 in funding for a total of 19 projects through the NSW Government’s 2018 Community Building Partnership Program.

Member for Ballina Tamara Smith said the State government funds will deliver much-needed improvements to local facilities including an outdoor space supporting people with a disability in Ballina, the repair and refurbishment of the Mullumbimby Gateway, a computer systems upgrade for the Brunswick Heads Visitor Centre, and weather protection for a children’s play area at Alstonville Public School.

“This is fantastic news for our region, this grassroots funding will directly help to create a more vibrant and inclusive local community with positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes,” Ms Smith said.

“I congratulate all the organisations that were successful in their application and look forward to seeing how these projects make a real difference for community groups in the area.”

The Community Building Partnership program has funded some 13,800 community projects since it commenced nearly a decade ago.
