New Marine Rescue Tower

Greens Member for Ballina, Tamara Smith said how pleased she was that the Ballina community has a state-of-the-art marine rescue facility, at the official opening of the Ballina Marine Rescue Tower today.

“It was a long battle to get the old leaning tower replaced but I was happy to go into bat for the volunteers who staff it to get the funding needed for this valuable community asset.”

 “I was very happy to secure $200,000 in grant funding to Marine Rescue NSW to support the construction of the Ballina Marine Rescue Tower after so many years of inaction on this issue,” said Ms Smith.

“I wish all the dedicated volunteers and support staff all the best and congratulate them on their own fundraising and hard work to get this facility for Ballina.”
